Akuorkor Addy, M.D.
|
Dr. Addy was born and raised in Acrra, Ghana and is a graduate of the University of Ghana Medical School. She also has an M.P.H. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an M.S. from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She did her residency at Butterworth Hospital and joined Alger Pediatrics in 1995. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University Medical School and is involved in medical student and resident teaching. She is a volunteer physician at the Baxter Wholistic Health clinic and Bethany Christian Services. She is a member of Thornapple Evangelical Convenant Church, where she sings in the choir. She currently serves on the National Board of the Covenant World Relief Commission.

| Douglas Daining, M.D. |
Dr. Daining has been a Pediatrician at Alger Pediatrics since 1982. He is a graduate of Calvin College and University of Michigan. He did his internship and residency at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Daining is board certified in Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a full staff member at DeVos Children's Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. Dr. Daining has served as Chairman of Pediatrics for DeVos Children's Hospital. He is a long-term volunteer of medical services for Bethany Christian Services and Baxter Wholistic Health Clinic. Doug is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University and is involved in medical student and residency education. He is an active member of Neland Ave. Christian Reformed Church. His hobbies include golf, hiking and photography.

| Andrea Kort, M.D. |
Dr. Kort grew up in Jenison, Michigan. She graduated from Calvin College and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her residency at DeVos Children’s Hospital. Dr. Kort joined Alger Pediatrics in 2004. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a full staff member at DeVos Children’s Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is involved in medical student and resident teaching. She leads classes for new and expectant parents for Spectrum Health. Dr. Kort is married to Eric and they have three young children. She is a member of Church of the Servant.

| Ronald Hofman, M.D. |
Dr. Hofman was born in Bozeman, MT and lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Los Angeles, CA, and Muskegon, MI in his youth. He is married to Heidi and has four children. A graduate of Calvin College and University of Michigan Medical School, he completed his Pediatric Residency in Grand Rapids, joining Alger Pediatrics in 1984. He is board certified through the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was chairman of the department of Pediatrics at DeVos Children's Hospital from 1996-98, and currently serves on the board of the Foundation for DeVos Children's Hospital. He is a Cadet counselor at Neland Ave. Christian Reformed Church and tutors at Alexander School (GRPS). He is a volunteer physician at Baxter Community Center and Bethany Christian Services, and he staffs the DeVos Children's Hospital Resident clinic in a teaching capacity. He is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University Medical School. A recipient of the Building Bridges Award from Camp Tall Turf, he has been president of the Board of the camp and initiated the DeVos Children's Hospital Asthma Camp at Tall Turf.

Jayne Rauwerda, M.D.

Dr. Rauwerda grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating from Calvin College, she taught fourth grade at DeMotte Christian School in DeMotte, IN and sixth grade at Sylvan Christian School in Grand Rapids, MI. She then graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency at DeVos Children's Hospital. Dr. Rauwerda joined Alger Pediatrics in 2004. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has full privileges at DeVos Children's Hospital and Saint Mary's Hospital. Dr. Rauwerda is a volunteer pediatrician for Baxter Wholistic Health Center and Bethany Christian Services. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics for MSU-CHM. She teaches medical students and residents by lecturing, mentoring, and staffing the DeVos Pediatric Clinic. She leads New Parent classes for Spectrum Health. Dr. Rauwerda is married to Jim, and they have three children-Anna, Joseph, and Samuel. They are members of Cascade Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, where Dr. Rauwerda is in her 17th year of teaching Sunday school.

| Annette Walen, M.D. |
Dr. Walen grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. She is a graduate of University of Dayton and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Walen completed her residency at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids in 1984, and is board-certified in Pediatrics. She practiced pediatrics at Kent Pediatrics until 1986, then spent seven busy years as an "at-home mom" with her three children. Dr. Walen joined Alger Pediatrics in 1993. She is an Assoiate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University, is involved in medical student and resident education, and staffs the DeVos Hospital Pediatrics clinic. Dr. Walen and her family are members of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
